Teacher Resources

Welcome!

The Avon Middle/High School Library Media Center is home to over 18,000 materials  for student and faculty use. The Library Catalog can be accessed through any school computer, and can provide the locations of all materials.

We may not always have all the information you need but we can usually tell you where to find it. Please remember to take advantage of our neighbor, the Avon Public Library (click here) or your local library for additional borrowing needs. (Their Catalog found here!) If you still don't have what you're looking for, we can assist you in borrowing a book from another MA school library through our membership in MassCat .

HOW DO YOU PHYSICALLY FIND BOOKS IN OUR LIBRARY?

In addition to books, magazines, and newspapers, the Library has
online subscriptions to databases that can be accessed on school computers, including Electric Library, a full-text database that allows searchers to print out magazine articles from 1992 to today, and Gale's Student Resource Center , which includes biographical and critical essays on hundreds of literary greats.  See Mrs. London for passwords necessary to access these resources. Students may also access subscription databases of full-text periodicals and reference books with a public library card bar code number. To connect to these high quality, valuable resources provided by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners through our regional office (click here):
