Morning Announcements 1/30/2023

ACES is currently hiring a Youth Prevention Leader to work alongside with the coordinator and other community leaders for $15 an hour. If you are interested please contact Mrs. Isidor or email aces.avon@gmail.com for an application. A resume is necessary.

  • Avon Middle High School now is offering after school tutoring! High School students will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays in the Library with Ms. Messina and Ms. Berardi.
  • Middle School students will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Room 135 with Ms. Tyler and Mrs. Fuller.

MAIN OFFICE

  • All Emergency form packets should now be in the front office. If you have lost the packet,  see Mrs. Cartwright or Ms. Bernardino for another copy.
  • Charlie Card bus passes are now available in the front office, and can be used on the Bat Bus

HIGH SCHOOL

Senior class will info is due by Feb 8th, seniors, check your email for more information.

ATHLETICS

  • Hanlie Cadet led the way with 6 points in the loss to Westport. Dahlia Parent and Uwa Idada combined for 15 rebounds in the game.
  • The Boys Varsity team loss to Westport 59-40 on Friday night.  The Panthers defense could not stop Westports shooting.  Leading the way for the Panthers Kenzel Jean Michel had 14 points and 14 rebounds and Josiah Guerrier had 11 points and 16 rebounds.
  • Next Monday, February 6, is our Give Kids a Smile Game sponsored by AMHS Cheer during both boys’ basketball games. This is a national initiative in February that provides free dental care for children in need. Please support the cause by coming to watch our Avon Panthers take on the Atlantis Charter Tritons! Wear purple and donate a kid's toothbrush, toothpaste, new markers, crayons, or coloring book!

  • Boys JV Basketball Game at Norfolk Aggie, Monday, January 30th at 3:30 Bus leaves at 2:15
  • Boys Varsity Basketball Game at Norfolk Aggie, Monday, January 30th at 5:00 Bus leaves at 2:15
  • Girls Varsity Basketball Game Vs Wareham, Monday, January 30th at 4:00
  • Cheer Practice 5:30-7:00

Fitness Center (weight room) will be open on Wednesdays ONLY from 2:15pm to 3:20pm. See Ms. Alves for permission slips.

Detention is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Congratulations to our Bocce team, Elijah, Jonas, Maeve, and Andre, who competed in a tournament this Sunday and won all three of their games! In addition, thank you to everyone who came to cheer on the team!
