Morning Announcements 2/17/2023

If you have not received your school ID, see Mrs. Cartwright or Ms. Bernardino in the front office.

Ms. Chandler-Blood’s photography class will be taking photos of students during 1st and 3rd lunch Today as part of a school wide Black History Month Project. Students feel free to stop by to have your photos taken at lunch to be part of a project that celebrates who we are as a school community. Students are encouraged to wear any cultural attire and bring any accessories that represent what it means to be black or to support our black community.  Stop by Ms. CB's room after school today for more information about getting involved with the project. 

  • Avon Middle High School now is offering after school tutoring! High School students will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays in the Library with Ms. Messina and Ms. Berardi.
  • Middle School students will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Room 135 with Ms. Tyler and Mrs. Fuller.

ATHLETICS

  • All five starters contributed for Avon's 46-43 win over Holbrook. Kylie Mallett led the scoring with 12 points, Dahlia Parent had 11 points, Uwa Idada had 10 points, Hanelie Cadet had 7 points and Kylie Andersen rounded out the scoring with six points. Avon finishes the regular season at 11-7. 
  • The Avon Panthers loss a close game against Holbrook 57-50.  The Panthers took the lead mid-way through the 4th quarter, but made some costly turnovers late in the game.  The Panthers were led by Captain Kenzel Jean-Michel who had 14 points 2 blocks and 8 rebounds and Captain Jordan Medeiros who had 10 points.
  • Winter Sports Awards Night Tuesday, March 14th at 6:00 P.M.

MAIN OFFICE

  • All Emergency form packets should now be in the front office. If you have lost the packet, see Mrs. Cartwright or Ms. Bernardino for another copy.
  • Charlie Card bus passes are now available in the front office, and can be used on the Bat Bus.
  • Detention is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
