Morning Announcements 3/13/2023

During the months of March and April Noelani Milord and Emma MacDonald will be holding a drive that will be collecting NEW & UNUSED items like chapstick, blankets, unscented lotion, inspirational bracelets, coloring/crossword/word search books, colored pencils/crayons, and warm clothing to be put into care packages for breast cancer patients in treatment. A donation box will be in the lobby for students and faculty who would like to support the patients of South Shore Health Foundation. This drive is a service project for the National Honor Society.

Aces is hosting a workshop Friday after school for the half day in partnership with The 84 Movement. Students will be able to earn community service, play games and get free food! It will be hosted at Avon park and rec in the town hall offices down the street from the school. Any person interested or may have questions contact aces.avon@gmail.com. 

  • Attention Drama Club: Today's rehearsal is cancelled. Use the time to work on your lines for Act I. 

Are you feeling the luck o' the Irish? Well try your luck and you might win something better than a pot of gold ... a large jar of candy!

All this week at lunch make $1 guess on one or both of the jars. One VERY lucky jar has 2, yes 2 large candy bars hidden inside!

  •          Avon Middle High School now is offering after school tutoring! High School students will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays in the Library with Ms. Messina and Ms. Berardi.
  •          Middle School students will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays in room 135 with Ms. Tyler and Mrs. Fuller.

HIGH SCHOOL 

  •          Course selections are now open to students.  Please see instructions on the Avon Middle High School website.  Course selections will close on 3/23.

ATHLETICS

  •         Impact Testing today, Monday, March 13th at 2:15 in the Library
  •         Spring Sports begin March 20th ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE ORANGE CARD, CONCUSSION FORM, UP TO DATE PHYSICAL AND IMPACT TESTING COMPLETED AND TURNED INTO NURSE BEFORE           YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN SPRING SPORTS.
  •          Winter Sports Awards Night Tuesday, March 14th at 6:00 P.M.
  •          Mayflower All Star Classic March 15th at Old Colony Girls at 5:00 and Boys at 6:00

MAIN OFFICE

  •          All Emergency form packets should now be in the front office. If you have lost the packet, see Mrs. Cartwright or Ms. Bernardino for another copy.
  •          Charlie Card bus passes are now available in the front office, and can be used on the Bat Bus.
  •          Detention is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
