Morning Announcements 3/23/2023

During the months of March and April Noelani Milord and Emma MacDonald will be holding a drive that will be collecting NEW & UNUSED items like chapstick, blankets, unscented lotion, inspirational bracelets, coloring/crossword/word search books, colored pencils/crayons, and warm clothing to be put into care packages for breast cancer patients in treatment. A donation box will be in the lobby for students and faculty who would like to support the patients of South Shore Health Foundation. This drive is a service project for the National Honor Society.

  • Avon Middle High School now is offering after school tutoring! High School students will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays in the Library with Ms. Messina and Ms. Berardi.
  • Middle School students will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays in room 135 with Ms. Tyler and Mrs. Fuller.

HIGH SCHOOL 

  • Course selections are now open to students.  Please see instructions on the Avon Middle High School website.  Course selections will close today 3/23.
  • Attention sophomores and juniors: Are you interested in running for office? Mrs. Pyne is now accepting candidates for next year's class officers. Officers will work closely with their advisors to help make decisions about activities and fundraisers for their class, as well as represent their class at Student Council meetings. Nomination forms can be found in your email and are due Friday, 3/31. Any questions? See Mrs. Pyne.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

The MS Student Council will meet tomorrow, Friday with Ms. Conrad after school.

As part of her service project for Project 351, our 8th grade student ambassador, Kate Austrino is collecting new or gently used clothing for Cradles to Crayons to provide clothing for children. There will be a drop-off box in the front lobby from Monday to Friday. This is a perfect time to go through your closets and bureaus and donate what you no longer wear. Students and staff will also be competing to see who can donate the most brand new socks! Please help Kate in her service journey and consider donating and helping out families in need.

ATHLETICS

  • If you are still interested in signing up for Spring sports, please see Mr. Hayes
  • JV and Varsity baseball practice will be outside today at 2:25, Noonan Field
  • Softball Practice at Crowley Field 2:30-4:30

MAIN OFFICE

  • All Emergency form packets should now be in the front office. If you have lost the packet, see Mrs. Cartwright or Ms. Bernardino for another copy.
  • Charlie Card bus passes are now available in the front office, and can be used on the Bat Bus.
  • Detention is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
