Morning Announcements 4/14/2023

Attention students and staff! Check out the celebrity match game posted on the door to room 300.  Try your hand at correctly matching the 22 celebrities to their picture as well as to the decade they became famous. There will be a Dunkin Donuts' gift card awarded to the student with the best score and to the staff member with the best score.

Drama Club presents "The Play That Goes Wrong" at 7pm on Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $5 for staff and students. Thank you for supporting the Drama Club. We'll see you at the show!

During the months of March and April Noelani Milord and Emma MacDonald will be holding a drive that will be collecting NEW & UNUSED items like chapstick, blankets, unscented lotion, inspirational bracelets, coloring/crossword/word search books, colored pencils/crayons, and warm clothing to be put into care packages for breast cancer patients in treatment. A donation box will be in the lobby for students and faculty who would like to support the patients of South Shore Health Foundation. This drive is a service project for the National Honor Society.

  • Avon Middle High School now is offering after school tutoring! High School students will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays in the Library with Ms. Messina and Ms. Berardi.
  • Middle School students will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays in room 135 with Ms. Tyler and Mrs. Fuller.

HIGH SCHOOL

Attention Seniors and Juniors, Prom tickets go on sale today. Are you thinking of bringing a guest? Underclassman or out of school? If so, pick up your guest permission slip in the front office or with Ms. Francisco in room 120, Prom is May 12th.

ATHLETICS

The girls’ softball team played well against Bishop Connolly yesterday keeping the game close through the first four innings. In the fifth, with the score 5 to 1, B.C. scored 4 and began to pull away. The Avon defense had a strong game, but the outfield of Hanelie Cadet, Grace Robertson and Joenardie Fleuranvil played particularly well. The B. C. pitcher was dominating, striking out 12 Avon hitters. Dahlia Parent and Grace Robinson had the only 2 hits for the Panthers. Final score of the game was 12 to 1.

Avon Varsity Baseball lost to Bishop Connolly 7-3. Ryan Luddy pitched 7 strong innings to keep the Panthers in the game. Anthony Fuller sparked the Avon offense with an RBI single. Avon plays Holbrook on Saturday

MAIN OFFICE

  • All Emergency form packets should now be in the front office. If you have lost the packet, see Mrs. Cartwright or Ms. Bernardino for another copy.
  • Charlie Card bus passes are now available in the front office, and can be used on the Bat Bus.
  • Detention is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
