Community Service Opportunity!

Today after school April 8th in the library, students will be writing cards of hope and support for hospitalized kids. Bring your creativity and enthusiasm... and earn an hour of community service. Students in grades 6-12 are encouraged to participate. 

High School: 

  • Attention sophomores and juniors: Are you interested in running for office? Mrs. Pyne is now accepting candidates for next year's class officers. Officers will work closely with their advisors to help make decisions about activities and fundraisers for their class. Nomination forms have been emailed and are due April 24.
  • Early College applications are due by 4/12. See Mrs. Hill if you have any questions. 
  • There will be a meeting for juniors and seniors who are interested in helping to plan the decorations for the prom on Wednesday April 10 after school in Ms. Nilsen's room, 248.

Middle School:

Avery Fillion, our Project 351 Ambassador is leading a clothing drive in support of Cradles to Crayons. The drive is accepting gently used clothing ages infant to adult medium. Bins have been placed around Avon, but you can support that cause by adding your gently worn items to the bin located across from the main office. Please consider donating any old clothes that you might have in support of this wonderful cause!

After School Homework Club:

High School:  Students can go to Room 235 and work with Mr. Clements or Mr. Thoreson, They will be available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30-3:30.

Middle School:  Students can work with Ms. Martell in Room 131 on Mondays and Wednesdays and with Ms.Tyler in Room 122 on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 - 3:30.  stop by and get some work done.

DETENTION will be held in room 218 with Mr. Ellis

Are you interested in decorating a cute, wooden bird house for those baby birds in your yard? Are you also interested in winning 50 points for your grade during Spirit Week? Well, you can on Thursday, April 11th in the cafeteria. The Student Council is hosting the contest - open to students in all grades AND staff members, too! Each team pays $10 to enter. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to either Bee Jackson or Niva Patel!

Sports:

7th grader Robert Rose got his first varsity hit in the 13 to 3 loss to Wareham. Avon is now 1-1.
