High School: 

  • Early College applications are due by 4/12. See Mrs. Hill if you have any questions. 
  • Attention sophomores and juniors: Are you interested in running for office? Mrs. Pyne is now accepting candidates for next year's class officers. Officers will work closely with their advisors to help make decisions about activities and fundraisers for their class. Nomination forms have been emailed and are due April 24.
  • There will be a meeting for juniors and seniors who are interested in helping to plan the decorations for the prom  today, April 10 after school in Ms. Nilsen's room, 248.

Middle School:

Avery Fillion, our Project 351 Ambassador is leading a clothing drive in support of Cradles to Crayons. The drive is accepting gently used clothing ages infant to adult medium. Bins have been placed around Avon, but you can support that cause by adding your gently worn items to the bin located across from the main office. Please consider donating any old clothes that you might have in support of this wonderful cause!

After School Homework Club:

  • High School:  Students can go to Room 235 and work with Mr. Clements or Mr. Thoreson, They will be available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30-3:30
  • Middle School:  Students can work with Ms. Martell in Room 131 on Mondays and Wednesdays and with Ms.Tyler in Room 122 on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 - 3:30.  stop by and get some work done.

DETENTION will be held in room  218 with Ms. Neprud.

Are you interested in decorating a cute, wooden bird house for those baby birds in your yard? Are you also interested in winning 50 points for your grade during Spirit Week? Well, you can on Thursday, April 11th in the cafeteria. The Student Council is hosting the contest - open to students in all grades AND staff members, too! Each team pays $10 to enter. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to either Bee Jackson or Niva Patel!

High school band and chorus: if you are a soloist, duet, or small group member in the upcoming recital, report to the music room at 2:15 today so Mr. Ellis and Ms. Neprud can listen to your solo piece.

Sports:

  • Jordan Medeiros pitched a complete game, striking out 10 in the 7-0 victory. Zach Mayo and Medeiros led the offense with 2 hits a piece. Avon is now 2-1. 
  • Softball lost 22-5. The girls hit well off a very good pitcher. Mica Gomes had an inside the park home run with 3 batters run in.   The Panthers travel to Holbrook on Thursday.

  • Junior Varsity Softball Home Game Vs Holbrook today, April 10th at 3:30, bus leaves at 2:15
  • Today is Character Day, thank you to everybody that participated. Tomorrow is Throwback Thursday, come dressed out of any decade of your choosing; the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, etc. Additionally, earn extra points for your class by finding Moses Curtis the hidden panther or by signing up for Pep Rally games at lunch.
  • AMHS Spring Fundraiser, show Mom some love for Mother's Day or say Happy Spring to someone with a gift of Tulips, 1 bunch (10 stems) $8, 2 bunches, $15, order between April 8th & April 29th.Pick up will be  on Friday, May 10 in AMHS lobby between 2:15 - 3PM, forms can be picked up & dropped off in the Main office with cash or check or scan the QR code on the flyer.
