High School: 

  • Early College applications are due tomorrow 4/12. See Mrs. Hill if you have any questions. 
  • Attention sophomores and juniors: Are you interested in running for office? Mrs. Pyne is now accepting candidates for next year's class officers. Officers will work closely with their advisors to help make decisions about activities and fundraisers for their class. Nomination forms have been emailed and are due April 24.

Middle School:

Avery Fillion, our Project 351 Ambassador is leading a clothing drive in support of Cradles to Crayons. The drive is accepting gently used clothing ages infant to adult medium. Bins have been placed around Avon, but you can support that cause by adding your gently worn items to the bin located across from the main office. Please consider donating any old clothes that you might have in support of this wonderful cause!

After School Homework Club:

High School:  Students can go to Room 235 and work with Mr. Clements or Mr. Thoreson, They will be available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30-3:30

Middle School:  Students can work with Ms. Martell in Room 131 on Mondays and Wednesdays and with Ms.Tyler in Room 122 on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 - 3:30.  stop by and get some work done.

Detention will be held in room  249 with Ms. Rodriguez.

Are you interested in decorating a cute, wooden bird house for those baby birds in your yard? Are you also interested in winning 50 points for your grade during Spirit Week? Well, you can today in the cafeteria. The Student Council is hosting the contest - open to students in all grades AND staff members, too! Each team pays $10 to enter. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to either Bee Jackson or Niva Patel!, today is the last day.

Student Musicians: The A Band is meeting after school today from 2:30-3:30 to rehearse for the pep rally!

Sports:

  • Varsity Baseball Away Game At Holbrook today, , April 11th at 3:30, bus leaves at 2:15
  • Varsity Softball Away Game At Holbrook today, , April 11th at 3:30, bus leaves at 2:15
  • The Avon JV Baseball team fell to rival Holbrook 12-5, giving up an early lead. Danny Ferro pitched well giving up 3 earned runs with 3 hits over 3 innings with 3 strikeouts. Cooper Sheehan and Amari Barros came in relief. Amari also had two hits . Cooper Sheehan, Brandon Roach, Liam Gibbon, and Baiden Campbell also joined the hit parade for a hit each.
  • The JV team has its next game slated for tomorrow, Friday, home against the powerhouse The Westport Wildcats. So bring yah best guy or bring yah best gal to the game and enjoy some fun with us at Noonan Field. First pitch is at 3:30.

Spirit Week:

  • Today is Throwback Thursday, thank you to everybody that participated. Tomorrow is Class Color Day, come dressed in your class's color. Additionally, earn extra points for your class by finding Moses Curtis the hidden panther or by signing up for Pep Rally games at lunch.
  • The Student Council is hosting a fundraiser called “Unicorn a Teacher”. At lunch, put money in the cup of the teacher you want to see wearing a Unicorn Costume at Pep Rally. Also, you can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to join the Student team for the Student v. Teacher Volleyball game that will be held at Pep Rally.

AMHS Spring Fundraiser, show Mom some love for Mother's Day or say Happy Spring to someone with a gift of Tulips, 1 bunch (10 stems) $8, 2 bunches, $15, order between April 8th & April 29th.Pick up will be  on Friday, May 10 in AMHS lobby between 2:15 - 3PM, forms can be picked up & dropped off in the Main office with cash or check or scan the QR code on the flyer.

ACES will be meeting today after-school in the library at 2:15 till 4pm. All persons who are planning to do SALSA this year are required to attend the full length meeting.
