High School: Attention sophomores and juniors: Are you interested in running for office? Mrs. Pyne is now accepting candidates for next year's class officers. Officers will work closely with their advisors to help make decisions about activities and fundraisers for their class. Nomination forms have been emailed and are duet tomorrow April 24.

After School Homework Club:

High School: Students can go to Room 235 and work with Mr. Clements or Mr. Thoreson, They will be available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30-3:30

Middle School: Students can work with Ms. Martell in Room 131 on Mondays and Wednesdays and with Ms.Tyler in Room 122 on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 - 3:30.  stop by and get some work done.

DETENTION will be held in room  303 with Mr. Clifford.

Sports:

  • The Avon Baseball split its doubleheader with Atlantis Charter. Avon lost the first game 13 to 6, while winning the nightcap 8 to 4. In the victory Jason Maguire, Jordan Medeiros and Jacob Dean all had 2 hits a piece. Medeiros scattered 10 hits letting up 3 earned while striking out 9. Trailing 4-3,  Avon got 5 runs in the top of the 7th to take home the victory.  The Panthers are now 3 and 3 on the season. 
  • The Avon girl's softball team tried to mount a comeback, scoring two quick runs in the bottom of the third inning. However, the rally was put out by the very good, hard throwing pitcher from Wareham. They fought hard but lost to Wareham. The girl's next game is an away game at Wareham at 3:30 on Thursday. Last Wednesday, the Avon girls lost a close game to Atlantis Charter by a score of 17 to 16. Mica Gomez went 3 for 4 with a home run and was nominated for the high school player of the week.
  • Zach Mayo had two hits in the 13 to 3 loss to Hull. The Panthers are now 3-4. 
  • Varsity Softball Practice 2:30-4:00, bus leaves at 2:15
  • Baseball Practice 2:30-4:30

 

  • General Information: May 4th! Avon town clean up. Show up from 8:45-9:00am at the Mary McDermott room at Avon Town hall for free coffee and donuts. The clean up will be from 9-11 then you can come back afterwards for free pizza and drinks! Anyone who shows up will also be prompted to enter a raffle to win four free Red Sox tickets too! All attendance will be greatly appreciated!
  • AMHS Spring Fundraiser, show Mom some love for Mother's Day or say Happy Spring to someone with a gift of Tulips, 1 bunch (10 stems) $8, 2 bunches, $15, order between April 8th & April 29th.Pick up will be  on Friday, May 10 in AMHS lobby between 2:15 - 3PM, forms can be picked up & dropped off in the Main office with cash or check or scan the QR code on the flyer.
  • Day of Silence is an annual day of action organized to spread awareness about the effects of the bullying and harassment of LGBTQIA+ students. In the United States, students take a day-long vow of silence to symbolically represent the silencing of LGBTQIA+ students. AMHS students have the option to participate this Friday, April 26.
