JV Baseball game POSTPONED

JV Baseball Practice Wednesday, April 6th 2:30- 3:45

Ryan Luddy pitched 6 innings of 2 hit baseball, propelling Avon to a 2 to 1 victory over West Bridgewater. Luddy entered the game in the second inning, racking up 9 strikeouts and only allowing one unearned run. Behind the plate, Will Torres shut down the West Bridgewater running game, while Charlie Dean played well at first base. Offensively in the 3rd inning, Nick Olszewski, walked and stole second as Anthony Fuller drove in the game's first run. In the Bottom of the 6th, Ryan Luddy beat out an infield ground ball to reach first base, stole second, and eventually scored the game-winning run on a sharply hit grounder by Charlie Dean. Avon is 1-0 on the season and plays Bishop Connolly on Friday.

Thank you to all the fans for packing the Noonan Field, and cheering during Avon's Opening Day game victory!

The girl's softball team lost to perennial powerhouse West Bridgewater yesterday. Emma MacDonald pitched well in her first ever start for the Panthers but the West Bridgewater bats were a bit too much for the Avon girls to overcome. Micaella Gomez de-Lima scored the lone run for Avon. The girl's played well against a very tough opponent,   (Final score 15 to 1).
