Black History Month:

Every year during the month of February, the United States celebrates Black History Month to honor the achievements and the resilience of the Black community.

Today we'd like to recognize JEAN-MICHEL BASQUIAT. During the 1980s in NY, Basquiat secured his legacy as an art prodigy through his paintings, writings, and notebooks. He is best known as a graffiti artist in Soho and Manhattan, New York’s Lower East Side. His works were vibrant, emotional and abstract. In May 2016, Basquiat’s 1982 Untitled painting shattered his auction world record when it was sold for $57.3 million at Christie’s, making him the most financially successful African-American painter in history.
