Black History Month:

Today we honor Barrack Hussein Obama II who was born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu HI.  He is an American politician and lawyer, who was the first African-American president of the United States.  After graduating, from Harvard Law School, he became a civil rights attorney and an academic, teaching constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. Turning to elective politics, he represented the 13th district in the Illinois Senate from 1997 until 2004, when he ran for the U.S. Senate. He served as a U.S. Senator from Illinois from 2005 until in 2008 he was nominated by the Democratic Party for president. He served as the 44th president of the United States from 2009 to 2017. Through two terms as president, he tamed the Great Recession, rescued the struggling auto industry and enacted a health care reform law that had eluded Democrats for decades. He was disciplined and deliberative, even-tempered and level-headed.
