The AMHS Cheer team truly appreciates our community for supporting the Give Kids a Smile Game and donating to the cause. We collected 541 items! Your donations will be given to Cradles to Crayons, which is a non-profit founded in Quincy, MA that provides resources to homeless and low-income children. Thank you to everyone for their generosity and bringing smiles to kids!
The Athletics Department is happy to announce that due to the decreased number of COVID cases, we are able to allow students and others to attend games! So come and support our panthers! Just a reminder that all individuals that enter Avon Middle High School are required to wear a mask.
Black History Month:
Today we honor Oprah Winfrey who was born January 29, 1954 in rural Mississippi. She is an American talk show host, television producer, actress, author, and philanthropist. She is the first African-American female billionaire, an Academy Award-winner for her international humanitarian efforts and cover girl on every single issue of O, The Oprah Magazine since its debut in April 2000 (making her one of the most influential cover models in publishing history).
In 1994, she was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame and has won many accolades throughout her career. Her generosity, especially for educational endeavors, is legendary. Mama Oprah, who is famously never-married and childless, funded a girls-only private school in South Africa and tuition gifts to more than 415 Morehouse College students.

Are you interested in getting easy community service hours while helping your school? Then you can help our school win the Team Rival competition this year! Completing a module will earn you one hour of community service and you can also have a chance to participate in raffles and win prizes. Today the 16th in Classroom 300, we will have the first session to complete the modules, so come help our school win. If you're looking for community service hours, please bring your computer.
