The Avon Girls Basketball team beat Holbrook 57 to 53. Hanelie Cadet had 28 points for the Panthers in the win. Kylie Mallett had 16 points while Manaelle Narcisse scored her first varsity points, chipping in with 4 points. Great way to end the season girls!!!!!!

The Athletics Department is happy to announce that due to the decreased number of COVID cases, we are able to allow students and others to attend games!   So come and support our panthers! Just a reminder that all individuals that enter Avon Middle High School are required to wear a mask. 

Black History Month:

Today we honor Maya Angelou who was born Marguerite Annie Johnson; April 4, 1928 in St. Louis Missouri.  She was an American poet, memoirist, and civil rights activist. She published seven autobiographies, three books of essays, several books of poetry, and is credited with a list of plays, movies, and television shows spanning over 50 years. She received dozens of awards and more than 50 honorary degrees. As a civil rights activist she was  fearless and determined, serving as the northern coordinator for Martin Luther King Jr.’s Southern Christian Leadership Conference, and working with Malcolm X to establish the Organization of Afro-American Unity. She was chosen by US President Bill Clinton to recite her poem "On the Pulse of Morning" during his inauguration in 1993.
