JV Baseball lost to Westport on Tuesday. Avon pitched well through most of the innings with Cooper Sheehan closing the game without letting up any runs. Unfortunately, the offense could not get started and left a few runners in scoring positions.

Avon varsity baseball lost a hard-fought, Mayflower League game to Westport on Tuesday, 3-2. Ryan Luddy pitched 6 innings, striking out 5 to hold off Westport's offense. Avon had their chances offensively but fell short with runners in scoring position. Ryan Luddy, Nate Maguire, and Anthony Fuller had the lone hits for the Panthers. Avon travels to Atlantis Charter on Thursday.

Micaella Gomez de-Lima had the lone hit, a single into center field. The Panther girls kept the game relatively close until Westport erupted for 7 runs in the 6th inning. Final score Westport 16 Avon 1. The girls next game is this Thursday at 3:30 at Crawley Field.
