National Hispanic Heritage Month

Today we honor Dennis Chavez. Senator Chavez is the first person of Hispanic descent to be elected to a full term in the US Senate as a Democrat representing New Mexico. 

7th and 8th Grade Washington DC Trip:

There will be a virtual meeting for anyone interested in registering for the 7th and 8th Grade Washington DC Trip on Tuesday, Sept. 28th at 7 PM. Athletics:

Girls Varsity Volleyball team played a great game last night against Upper Cape with the final score being 3-2. Avon's tough loss. Kylie Mallett and Val Jean both had 10 points and Agatha DaSilva and Christine Augusta  had 7 serving points. Great team effort from the whole team, they are getting stronger and better each game they play. Practice today at 2:30.

The JV girls volleyball team won an exciting game yesterday against Upper Cape, 2 to 1.  Manaelle Narcisse had 20 serving points and Christine Auguste had 10 serving points. Everyone played well. Practice today at 2:30.

Student Council:

Student Council is accepting applications for representatives in grades 9-12. Please check your email for more information.  Applications and recommendations are due by Friday, 9/24. Questions? See Mrs. Pyne

High School Student Council will meet right after school this Friday in Mrs. Pyne's room. All high school students are welcome to join us (and all class officers and e-board members are required to attend)!

Ms. Conrad will have the first Middle School Student Council meeting for 7th and 8th grade students this Friday at 2:10 PM in Room 130. Come to the meeting and find out how to join.

Notifications:

Traffic flow change:

Starting Monday, 9/20/21 the morning drop-off location for high school students will change to the back entrance of the Middle-High School off of Page St. This will help to ease the congestion in the front of the building. High school students who drive must park at the public library across the street and will enter the building through the front lobby.

ACES:

ACES, Avon's Coalition for Everyone's Success will be having its first meeting this year for every student interested in ACES, SALSA, and Team Rival.  It will be in the library at 2:15 starting Monday the 20th.  If you have any questions please see Mrs. Isidor in the ACES office room 101.
