National Hispanic Heritage Month

Today we honor Carlos Santana, who is a Multi-Grammy Award-winning guitar player who is the first Latino to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.

Athletics:

The girls varsity volleyball team had a game yesterday against Bristol Aggie, Avon lost.  Kylie Andersen had seven serving points and was able to make some great blocks. , Manelle Narcisse and Kylie Mallett both had 5 points. Nayemma Chery made some great saves for Avon. All a team effort. Game today at West Bridgewater bus is leaving at 2:15. 

The girls JV volleyball team lost a tough game to Bristol Aggie yesterday 2-0, everyone played well. We have a game today at West Bridgewater. 

The Avon/Holbrook Bulldogs lost to the Nantucket Whalers 36-8 in their first game of the season.  Playing well for the Bulldogs, quarterback Colton Metcalf and running back Ka'mari Garnnet who scored a 20 yard touchdown and 2 point conversion.  No Practice today for Middle School Football.

Student Council:

High School Student Council will meet right after school this Friday in Mrs. Pyne's room. All high school students are welcome to join us (and all class officers and e-board members are required to attend)!

Attention freshmen and sophomores: Are you interested in running for office? Mrs. Pyne is now accepting candidates for freshman and sophomore class executive board. E-board members will attend Student Council meetings and work closely with their advisers to help make decisions about activities and fundraisers for their class. Nomination forms have been emailed to you and are due by Friday, October 1.

Notifications:

Today there will be an extended detention (2:10-4:10) held in the library for all students currently owing an after-school detention.  Any student owing an after-school detention can use this added extended detention to help satisfy their owed detentions.

If you are a Senior who is planning on applying either Early Action or Early Decision, please make an appointment with Mr. O'Donnell as soon as possible, if you have not done so already.

Jordan's Furniture is hosting two Enchanted Village Job Fairs in the month of October. If you are over sixteen and looking for work, please see Mr. O'Donnell for more details. 

MBTA Charlie Cards: 

The MBTA Student Reduced Fare Charlie Cards are available for students in the main office. 

Reminder:  Emergency forms are due.  If you have them, please drop them off at the office.
