National Hispanic Heritage Month

Today we honor Antonia Novello, she was the first woman and first Hispanic to serve as the US Surgeon General. She was appointed US Surgeon General in 1990 by President George Bush. During her tenure Dr. Novello worked to stem the tide of the AIDS virus and expedited immunization for our nation’s military service men and women. For her efforts during the Gulf War she was awarded the Legion of Merit, a military honor, by General Colin Powell.

.Athletics:

The girls JV volleyball team played West Bridgewater yesterday and lost 2-0, Manelle Narcisse had 4 serving points. The girls Varsity volleyball team played as well and lost 3-0, Agatha DaSilva made a great defensive play for the team. Practice at 2:30 in the gym today

Student Council:

High School Student Council will meet right after school this Friday in Mrs. Pyne's room. All high school students are welcome to join us (and all class officers and e-board members are required to attend)!

Attention freshmen and sophomores: Are you interested in running for office? Mrs. Pyne is now accepting candidates for freshman and sophomore class executive board. E-board members will attend Student Council meetings and work closely with their advisers to help make decisions about activities and fundraisers for their class. Nomination forms have been emailed to you and are due by Friday, October 1.

National Honor Society:

National Honor Society Applications are due Monday, October 4th. If you have any questions, please email Ms. Howe. 

Notifications:

If you are a Senior who is planning on applying either Early Action or Early Decision, please make an appointment with Mr. O'Donnell as soon as possible, if you have not done so already.

Jordan's Furniture is hosting two Enchanted Village Job Fairs in the month of October. If you are over sixteen and looking for work, please see Mr. O'Donnell for more details. 

MBTA Charlie Cards: 

The MBTA Student Reduced Fare Charlie Cards are available for students in the main office. 

Reminder:  Emergency forms are due.  If you have them, please drop them off at the office.
