Morning Announcements 10/21/2022

ATHLETICS

Emma MacDonald scored the lone goal for Avon in the 7 to 1 loss to West Bridgewater.

Noelani Milord set up the goal with a great assist and Micaella Gomes had 11 saves in net. Avon is now 8-5

 In yesterdays, 10/20/2022 Volleyball news:

JV volleyball lost to Bishop Connolly, but made a strong showing in the second set. Avery Cataldo had a 4-point serving run with Gabriella Marroquin-Castillo serving 3 and 1 ace. Uwa Idada played consistently with strong offensive attacks. 

Avon Varsity volleyball faced a tough loss against Bishop Connolly, despite close sets of 25-27, 23-25, 25-20, and 26-28. Valencia Jean played flawlessly both offensively and defensively accumulating 21 digs. Kylie Mallett followed in second with 11 digs, and Kylie Andersen with 9 offensive attacks.

Again, thank you to everyone who participated at Avon Volleyball's Dig Pink Game in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Donation items will be collected at all our home games and for the remainder of October. If you are unable to make a game, collection boxes are located in the AMHS Library or RM 235. Continue to support the cause and wear pink on any athletic game day!

Attention high school students: Tickets for homecoming will be on sale in the cafe today through next Friday! 

High School Student Council will meet today at 2:30pm in the library. All high school students are welcome to join us (and all StuCo members are required to attend)!

National Junior Honor Society:

Candidate Forms are being handed out this week to interested 8th and 9th graders.  If you would like to join NJHS, please fill out this form and return it to Ms. Wagner by October 31.

Attention Class of 2023!

This is the last week to order your Senior shirts! All orders and payments are to be made to Ms. Vogel or Ms. Francisco by October 24. Please see our Google Classroom, school email or flyers for the link to the order form and pricing. See Ms. Vogel if there are any questions.

MAIN OFFICE

All Emergency form packets should now be in the front office.  If you have lost the packet, see Mrs. Cartwright or Ms. Bernardino for another copy.

If you need Community Service hours, the Butler Elementary School is looking for 9th-12th grade volunteers for their ASA Trunk or Treat event, being held this Saturday October 22, 2022.  Please see Ms. Cartwright in the main office to sign up.
