Morning Announcements 10/27/2022

ACES

If you are “caught” wearing your ribbon at lunch today, you will receive a raffle ticket for the chance to win a gift card and anyone wearing red clothing or the ACES t-shirt will get additional tickets to win a gift card.

You will have the opportunity to pick up a red ribbon to wear, another ribbon to tie around a tree at your home and a letter with more information about Red Ribbon Week at lunch today

ATHLETICS

The Avon Girls Soccer team beat Wareham 6-0. Kate Austrino had a hat-trick, Hanelie Cadet had 4 assists, Brynn Gaynor had 2 goals and an assist, while Emma Macdonald tallied the last goal and Noelani Milord had the final assist. Dahlia Parent played well on defense and Micaella Gomes got her 5th shutout of the season. Avon is now 10-5.

Again, thank you to everyone who participated at Avon Volleyball's Dig Pink Game in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Donation items will be collected at all our home games and for the remainder of October. If you are unable to make a game, collection boxes are located in the AMHS Library or RM 235. Continue to support the cause and wear pink on any athletic game day!

National Junior Honor Society:

Candidate Forms are being handed out this week to interested 8th and 9th graders.  If you would like to join NJHS, please fill out this form and return it to Ms. Wagner by October 31.

All Emergency form packets should now be in the front office.  If you have lost the packet, see Mrs. Cartwright or Ms. Bernardino for another copy.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

  • Attention high school students: Tickets for homecoming will be on sale $20 in the cafe today through this Friday! The dance will be held @ the VFW Parkway in Avon, MA
  • Buy your yearbook now!!  Save $10.00 and get 4 free icons if you purchase a yearbook before 10/28.  The cost will be $75.00. you can still save $10.00 if you purchase a yearbook before 12/16. The cost will be $75.00, after 12/16 the cost will be $85.00, if you have any questions please email Ms. Hill

Cards2Connect- Holiday Card Challenge

The National Honors Society is partnering with Cards to Connect to complete “The Military Holiday Card Challenge”! Join us after school on WEDNESDAY, November 2nd to write personalized, signed expressions of respect, caring, and gratitude to US Troops, Veterans, and Service Families. Your cards will be sent to military persons stationed all over the world. 

Our card writing party is open to all students grades 7-12. 

WEDNESDAY, Nov. 2nd, after school in the library. Students who participate will earn community service hours. Come join us and write meaningful messages to spread hope this holiday. If you have any questions, speak to Ms. Howe or to any member of the NHS.

Win $50 of candy!

Ending on Halloween day at lunch, the Interact club is having a Guess-o-ween event where you can win a jar of candy with a $50-dollar value. For just a dollar you get two chances to guess the amount of candy in the jar and the person closest to the answer wins. You can buy an unlimited amount of guesses and all profits will go to a food drive planned for November.

PICTURE RETAKE DAY is on November 1st, So wear your Sundays Best!
