Morning Announcements 2/2/2023

ACES is currently hiring a Youth Prevention Leader to work alongside with the coordinator and other community leaders for $15 an hour. If you are interested please contact Mrs. Isidor or email aces.avon@gmail.com for an application. A resume is necessary.

  • Avon Middle High School now is offering after school tutoring! High School students will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays in the Library with Ms. Messina and Ms. Berardi.
  • Middle School students will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Room 135 with Ms. Tyler and Mrs. Fuller.

Attention Plunging Panthers: The Polar Plunge has been POSTPONED to Saturday, February 18th. Still haven't signed up to join us? What are you waiting for? See Grayson Costigan or Mrs. Pyne for more details.

HIGH SCHOOL

  • Senior class will info is due by Feb 8th, seniors, check your email for more information
  • High School Club pictures will be taken on Tuesday, 2/7 and Wednesday, 2/8.  Please check your email for specific times.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

 The Middle School Student Council will meet this Friday the 3rd and next Friday the 10th after school with Ms. Conrad.

ATHLETICS

  • The Avon Girls Basketball team defeated Holbrook 40-25. Hanelie Cadet had 19 points while Dahlia Parent had a big game with 11 points and 16 rebounds. The Panthers are now 7-4. 
  • Boys Varsity Basketball loss the first game of the Train-Tracks series vs Holbrook 57-65. Leading the way for the Panthers was Josiah Guerrier with 19 points and 15 rebounds. Kenzel Jean-Michel also had 15 points 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks
  • The JV Boys Basketball team loss to Holbrook 40-45. 
  • Leading the Panthers was Brandon Charles with 14 points and Thomas Edwards who had 12 points
  • The Avon Middle School Basketball Team lost to Holbrook middle in a close game 42-39. Xavier Bell led the offense with 16 points keeping the Panthers in the game. The next middle school game is home, on Friday against West Bridgewater.

  • Cheer Practice 3:00-4:00
  • Next Monday, February 6, is our Give Kids a Smile Game sponsored by AMHS Cheer during both boys’ basketball games. This is a national initiative in February that provides free dental care for children in need. Please support the cause by coming to watch our Avon Panthers take on the Atlantis Charter Tritons! Wear purple and donate a kid's toothbrush, toothpaste, new markers, crayons, or coloring book!

Fitness Center (weight room) will be open on Wednesdays ONLY from 2:15pm to 3:20pm. See Ms. Alves for permission slips.

MAIN OFFICE

All Emergency form packets should now be in the front office. If you have lost the packet, see Mrs. Cartwright or Ms. Bernardino for another copy.

Charlie Card bus passes are now available in the front office, and can be used on the Bat Bus.

Detention is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays,
