Morning Announcements 3/1/2023

During the months of March and April Noelani Milord and Emma MacDonald will be holding a drive that will be collecting NEW & UNUSED items like chopstick, blankets, unscented lotion, inspirational bracelets, coloring/crossword/word search books, colored pencils/crayons, and warm clothing to be put into care packages for breast cancer patients in treatment. A donation box will be in the lobby for students and faculty who would like to support the patients of South Shore Health Foundation. This drive is a service project for the National Honor Society.

  • Avon Middle High School now is offering after school tutoring! High School students will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays in the Library with Ms. Messina and Ms. Berardi.
  • Middle School students will meet on Tuesday and Friday for this week only in Room 135 with Ms. Tyler and Mrs. Fuller.

HIGH SCHOOL 

An current high school student interested in applying to be a part of the yearbook for next year, please email Mrs. Hill by 3/9 for an application.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

The MS Student Council has a meeting after school this Friday with Ms. Conrad. All should attend.

ATHLETICS

The Avon girls’ basketball team lost to Upper Cape Tech by 54-37. Kylie Mallett led the way with 14 points. Dahlia Parent and Emma Macdonald each played outstanding in their final game for Avon. Avon finishes the season at 11-8. 

Spring Sports begin March 20th. Please see Mrs. Blackburn for an Orange card and to check your physical. All athletes must have an up-to-date physical and impact testing to participate.

MAIN OFFICE

  • All Emergency form packets should now be in the front office. If you have lost the packet, see Mrs. Cartwright or Ms. Bernardino for another copy.
  • Charlie Card bus passes are now available in the front office, and can be used on the Bat Bus.
  • Detention is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and today it will be held in the auditorium
