Morning Announcements 3/16/2023

Black Student Union will have their first meeting on March 20th at 2:15pm. Sign-up sheet will be outside Ms. Alves office.

During the months of March and April Noelani Milord and Emma MacDonald will be holding a drive that will be collecting NEW & UNUSED items like chapstick, blankets, unscented lotion, inspirational bracelets, coloring/crossword/word search books, colored pencils/crayons, and warm clothing to be put into care packages for breast cancer patients in treatment. A donation box will be in the lobby for students and faculty who would like to support the patients of South Shore Health Foundation. This drive is a service project for the National Honor Society.

Are you feeling the luck o' the Irish? Well try your luck and you might win something better than a pot of gold ... a large jar of candy! All this week at lunch make $1 guess on one or both of the jars. One VERY lucky jar has 2, yes 2 large candy bars hidden inside! All proceeds go toward the class of 2026. - Good Luck, me friends" (not a typo)

ACES is meeting today in the library after school. All are welcomed. Any person who is interested in participating in SALSA must attend or contact aces.avon@gmail.com 

  • Avon Middle High School now is offering after school tutoring! High School students will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays in the Library with Ms. Messina and Ms. Berardi.
  • Middle School students will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays in room 135 with Ms. Tyler and Mrs. Fuller.

HIGH SCHOOL 

Course selections are now open to students.  Please see instructions on the Avon Middle High School website.  Course selections will close on 3/23.

Attention sophomores and juniors: Are you interested in running for office? Mrs. Pyne is now accepting candidates for next year's class officers. Officers will work closely with their advisors to help make decisions about activities and fundraisers for their class, as well as represent their class at Student Council meetings. Nomination forms can be found in your email and are due Friday, 3/31. Any questions? See Mrs. Pyne.

ATHLETICS

Anyone interested in playing baseball, there will be a mandatory meeting in room 121, Today, March 16th at 2:05. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Regonlinski or Mr. Hutchison

  • The Winter Sports Award has been moved to Wednesday, March 22nd at 6 P.M.
  • Spring Sports begin March 20th ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE ORANGE CARD, CONCUSSION FORM, UP TO DATE PHYSICAL AND IMPACT TESTING COMPLETED AND TURNED INTO NURSE BEFORE YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN SPRING SPORTS.

MAIN OFFICE

All Emergency form packets should now be in the front office. If you have lost the packet, see Mrs. Cartwright or Ms. Bernardino for another copy.

Charlie Card bus passes are now available in the front office, and can be used on the Bat Bus.

Detention is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

CAFETERIA

Today the cafeteria will be serving Macaroni and cheese.
