ATHLETICS

Jordan Medeiros tossed his 1st career no-hitter, beating Atlantis Charter 8-1. Medeiros was untouchable on Thursday, mystifying hitters, striking out 9 batters and only allowing 5 runners to reach base. Ryan Luddy called a tremendous game, blocking every Medeiros hammer curveball, as well as throwing out his 3rd runner of the season. Offensively, Ryan Luddy was the catalyst for the Panthers, crushing a home run into the street during his first at bat of the game. On the base paths, Luddy showed off his speed and aggressiveness, swiping 2 bases and scoring 3 runs that energized the home squad. Logan Costa contributed with a bases loaded single that plated 3 runs in the second inning. Overall, Avon won a big, non-league victory as they continue to push toward a playoff berth.
