The Jv Volleyball team loss to Upper Cape in their non-league meet.  Playing well for the Panthers was Uwa Idada and Avery Cataldo.  Gabby Marroquinn had 10 serving points.

Avon Varsity volleyball played an outstanding offensive game against Upper Cape, winning the match in a 3-0 sweep. Valerie Salawu led the team with 19 serves overall. Valencia Jean and Kylie Mallett hit outside to keep an unpredictable, fast paced offense. Kylie Andersen contributed 7 attack points at net with strong setter assists by Manaelle Narcisse and Agatha DaSilva.

DRAMA CLUB

Students in grades 4-12 are invited to audition for the Drama Club's fall musical, Matilda!  Auditions will be held on today, September 13, at 2:30p in the AMHS auditorium, and Wednesday, September 14 at 3pm at Butler.  For more information, see Mrs. Pyne.

Students who are interested in working on building and painting the set for the musical are invited to meet in the auditorium at 2:30p on Wednesday. See Mr. Lochrie for more details.

Students who are interested in directing or playwriting are invited to meet in the auditorium at 2:30p on Thursday to learn more about Student Shorts: Year 8. See Mrs. Pyne for more details.

FRESHMAN AND SOPHOMORES

Attention freshmen and sophomores: Are you interested in running for office? Mrs. Pyne is now accepting candidates for freshman and sophomore class executive board. E-board members will attend Student Council meetings and work closely with their advisers to help make decisions about activities and fundraisers for their class. Nomination forms can be found on the Student Council bulletin board across from the library, and are due Wednesday, 9/14.

CIVIL WAR/WASHINGTON DC TRIP – APRIL 2023

Calling all students in grades 9-12! April vacation, 2023 the high school is planning an American Civil War trip to the Washington, DC area. Bring your parent/guardian to our in-person enrollment session being held in room 246 on Tuesday, September 20th, 2022 at 6:00 pm to learn more and sign up. We are very excited for this adventure and will have an AWESOME time! See Mrs. Whitworth in rm 246 if you have any questions prior to the meeting.
